A project realised in tandem with Cities and Memory, a recording* of the Pingo river from the Patagonia region sparked a sound narrative that describes a state of emergency. For swim, swim, don't sink , the calming and soothing sound generally associated with a flowing river was repurposed into a guiding thread of a deep and, at times, dark sound piece. And through this audible tension, searching to put forward notions of a critical climate point, perhaps one of no return.
*The Pingo river is located in the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile's southern part of the Patagonia region. The river is near the extensive Grey Glacier that has lost approximately two kilometres of its extension due to calving. And in 2017, a massive iceberg parted from the glacier.
