15, 754 Dispatches from Two Sites as a project began with an impulse to 'mark' my departure from Southeast Asia after a decade of living there. It started as a series of forty-three written letters sent over the mail from Bangkok to Mexico City. I included two timelines in these letters that chronicle significant events in each country's history. The letters were intentionally written in a style that imitates diplomatic cables. Subsequently, the letters were compiled and translated into a trilingual book.
